Students and teachers take advantage of multimedia files and learning objects through digital library repositories, create their own virtual words and use remote scientific instruments - - all without leaving their classrooms.

High school students in the Greater Philadelphia area create multimedia projects and share a dialogue about stereotypes with their peers in Taiwan. Elementary-age students in Delaware interact with classes around the country through the Digital Flat Stanley Project. Middle school students in Pennsylvania use their school computers to examine specimens they found on a playground under the high-powered scanning electron microscope at Lehigh University. Gerda Weissmann Klein, renowned motivational speaker, author and Holocaust survivor, teaches each one of us about tolerance, understanding and making a difference. Gerda’s spirit helped her survive six years under Nazi rule. Through the power of advanced networking, Gerda is able to share her incredible story while interacting and challenging thousands of students across the nation to make a difference in their own communities. Gerda’s story of survival in unimaginable circumstances helps students understand the past while encouraging tolerance and understanding, helping each one to understand the dangers of hate and extremism. The result is a deeper relationship between member schools and their communities, as well as unforgettable cross-cultural and problem-based learning experiences for teachers and students.
