The Challenger Learning Center of Greater Rochester offers a 10% discount on 6 unique video conferences. Transfer of Energy, Simple Machines, Cycles in the Sky, Astronauts: Living the Dream, Mysteries of the Great Lakes, and Hidden Treasures. These conferences are generally designed for grades 3-8 but can be adapted for higher or lower levels upon request. Transfer of Energy has students explore the different forms of energy and how one form of energy can be changed to another form. Simple Machines explores pulleys, inclined planes, and levers, Cycles in the Sky focuses on revolution, rotation, seasons, day and night and effects of earth tilt. Hands on science kits with supplies and equipment can be provided at an additional cost, but are not required for the conference. The 10% discount would apply to the kit as well. Astronauts: Living the dream demonstrates how astronauts survive in space. Mysteries of the Great Lakes, and Hidden Treasures both introduce students to the Great Lakes exploring their ecosystems as well as the human history. Shipwrecks, battles, and piracy are all part of the heritage of the Great Lakes.
