On October 12, 2009 from 5:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M., Philadelphia will host the first NxtUp Education Exchange, an exciting one-night event showcasing some of the most creative and alternative K-12 pedagogical practices in the region. Join MAGPI for the inaugural event at the University of the Arts!
From service learning practitioners to teaching artists to environmental educators, twelve presenters will each share a pecha kucha-style presentation (20 slides, each shown for 15 seconds). They will give the audience tangible tips, strategies, services or programs that can readily enhance K-12 education.Greg Palmer, MAGPI's executive director, will be sharing some of MAGPI's exciting past K-12 projects and plans for the future.
In addition to the presentations, NxtUp Education will feature a one-hour networking session with information tables and performances by local students. There will be a lot to learn, a lot to share, and a lot of people in education to meet and talk with. If you work for a school or educational nonprofit, have run a successful educational youth program or simply have best-practice advice to share, we invite you to participate! And don't forget to stop by the MAGPI table and say hi!
