MAGPI’s First Annual Content Provider Carnival Is Coming To Town – Virtually!!
Step Right Up, Step Right Up -- for the First Annual MAGPI Content Provider Carnival where 22 amazing distance learning content providers will come together all under one virtual tent via live webcast to schools across the country!!
On October 27, 2010 from 9:00am - 2:30pm ET, MAGPI will use videoconferencing and social networking to bring award-winning distance learning content to K20 schools and public cultural organizations around the country in the First Annual Content Provider Carnival. Penn Video Network, the University of Pennsylvania’s cable television and special video events network, will provide live webstreaming of the five and a half hour distance learning carnival event.
22 select schools from across the MAGPI member network in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, South Carolina and Florida will join live via videoconference for this unique distance learning educational event to experience outstanding innovative distance learning content from award-winning content providers around the continent. Content Providers include Royal Botanical Gardens, National Archives, Hartley Outdoor Education Center, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Beacon Museum, The Center for Puppetry Arts, The Cleveland Institute of Music, The Royal Tyrrell Museum, HEC-TV Live!, The Cleveland Museum of Art, Minnesota Historical Society, Texas State Aquarium, PRISM at Montclair State University, Southeast Kansas Education Service Center, Amon Carter Museum, Global Education Motivators, Milwaukee Public Museum, National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame, Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Cowles Center, NORT2H Consortium, SeaTrek Distance Learning Mote Marine Laboratory.
K20 schools and organizations anywhere in the world can also visit museums, science centers, cultural centers and aquaria around the world during this exciting one-day adventure by watching the live webstream and sending in questions via twitter to @magpik20 using hashtag#vccarnival.
