Description: This seminar is an overview of Internet2/MAGPI and distributed learning over advanced networks. Find out what educators are currently doing with their connectivity and what resources are available to MAGPI members. Participants will understand the structure and function of MAGPI within the tri-state region and Internet2 community. After gaining knowledge of the various types of Internet2 applications, participants in this session will analyze their own curricula and how high-performance networking applications could enhance the teaching and learning environment in their own classroom. Videoconferencing: Best Practices and Virtual Field Trips

Description: This seminar explores the best classroom techniques for videoconferencing, virtual field trips and where to find content providers. Although we'll begin with an overview of various virtual field trips, each seminar features a particular content provider. After participating in this session, educators will understand the basic premises of virtual field trips, know how to use the CILC and MyK20 databases to find content providers, and will understand basic videoconference etiquette for educational programs. Videoconferencing: Planning Interactive Videoconference Collaborations

Description: This seminar investigates best practices for designing collaborative projects and class-to-class videoconference events. Participants will learn about how other educators designed collaborative projects and participant in a design exercise. Learning strategies for successful planning of interactive videoconference events, educators in this session will go through a “mock process’ of planning an interactive videoconference-based project. Each seminar involves an overview of designing collaborative projects and features a guest speaker. Virtual Reality, Simulation and Gaming in Education
